Position Overview
The Education Coordinator (EC) coordinates the Getting Ahead and Empowerment Programs within The Caring Place. The EC is responsible for organizing and/or facilitating the Getting Ahead program and monthly Empowerment Workshops. This full-time, salary position requires 35 hours per week at $38,000/annually. The schedule will require evening hours to accommodate group supervision and oversight. The EC will work closely with and report to the Director of Case Management.
Duties Include
Coordination of the Getting Ahead Program & Empowerment Workshops
Recruitment of participants to include marketing materials and community engagement events
Monitor and report on program objectives, outcomes, and goals; Ensure reporting data is current
Identify community partners to facilitate Getting Ahead and Empowerment Workshops in key areas
Facilitation of Getting Ahead and Empowerment Workshops as needed
Manage Empowerment Hub scheduling
Serve as organizational liaison for The Caring Place Advisory Committee
Maintain accurate and up to date records of interactions
Coordinate with assigned case managers for individuals engaging in educational programming
Engage in ongoing evaluation for program improvement of all educational programs
Work to develop educational programming according to the needs expressed by neighbors served by The Caring Place
Provide support for Registration and Intake Coordination as-needed
Foster collaborative working relationships with volunteers and staff
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Educational Requirements
Degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited school of social work preferred; Related degrees considered with two years of non-profit experience
Skills
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
Strong assessment/interviewing skills that demonstrate critical thought process
Ability to conceptualize presenting problems from a strength-based, person-in-environment perspective
Ability to problem-solve effectively and quickly
Ability to form liaison relationships with leaders of community organizations
Proficient with computer data base and word processing
Skillful written and oral communication skills
Effective organizational and time-management skills
Ability to practice consistently with integrity, innovation, and initiative
In-depth understanding and effective application of ethical standards
