Join our team and make a difference in the lives of students! We are seeking a dedicated OST Classroom Teacher to provide a safe and supportive educational environment during out-of-school time. This position plays a critical role in implementing our program curriculum and supporting student development beyond traditional classroom hours.
Responsibilities:
Implement the program curriculum, including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies, to ensure a quality educational experience for students.
Communicate regularly with the Education Program Manager regarding student progress and ongoing needs.
Teach emotional regulation and conflict resolution skills to students, fostering a positive classroom environment.
Collaborate with program personnel to develop engaging educational enrichment activities that support student learning.
Participate in weekly staff meetings, special events, and maintain regular communication with parents and stakeholders.
Perform administrative duties such as attendance tracking, classroom organization, and timely response to communications.
Connect families and community members to relevant resources to support student and family needs.
Uphold student confidentiality and ensure safety through proper supervision and adherence to safety protocols.
Comply with all mandatory reporting requirements related to child abuse, harassment, and ethical breaches.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
Minimum one year of experience working with K-12th grade students in a structured setting (classroom, camp, after-school program, etc.).
Strong classroom management skills and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Efficient organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Cultural competence and experience working in urban communities.
Valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, and successful completion of a criminal background check required.
