Stewardship Manager
Department: Development & External Relations

Reports To: Chief Development & External Relations Officer

Professional Band: Managerial

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: AIM Center – 472 W. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Chattanooga, TN, 37402

Schedule: Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends for donor meetings and events.

Position Summary
The Stewardship Manager supports the Development & External Relations team by leading donor engagement strategies, strengthening fundraising operations, and assisting with grants management. This role helps advance AIM Center’s strategic growth through intentional stewardship practices, donor-centered communications, and data-driven fundraising initiatives.

The successful candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to AIM Center’s mission of working side-by-side with individuals experiencing serious mental illness. This position requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage detailed workflows while supporting department initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage timely donor acknowledgements and stewardship communications via mail, email, and phone.
  • Support logistics, communications, and marketing efforts for fundraising events to maximize engagement.
  • Maintain accurate donor records within AIM’s fundraising database while ensuring strong data integrity practices.
  • Prepare stewardship materials such as newsletters, reports, and donor information packets tailored to specific audiences.
  • Coordinate donor-centric communications alongside the marketing team, including e-newsletters and external messaging.
  • Assist with management of a non-governmental grants portfolio, tracking deadlines, applications, and reporting requirements.
  • Use data insights to support fundraising strategy, campaign evaluation, and continuous improvement.
    Collaborate closely with the Chief Development & External Relations Officer and team members to support departmental goals.
  • Assist with AIM Center Board communications and preparation of quarterly board meetings.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

Clubhouse Generalist Responsibilities

  • Support a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive Clubhouse environment.
  • Advocate for member rights and meaningful participation.
  • Support Clubhouse International Standards and AIM Center policies.
  • Encourage participation in Transitional, Supported, and Independent Employment programs.
  • Serve as Transitional Employment Job Coach/Placement Manager as assigned.
  • Provide transportation for members as needed (training provided).
  • Participate in staff rotations, socials, employment dinners, holidays, and special events.
  • Collaborate with members on social and recreational activities.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development.

Education, Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred; equivalent nonprofit development experience (2–5 years) may be considered.
  • Experience with donor database software; Neon CRM preferred.
  • Strong persuasive writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional demeanor and strong collaborative skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive or PHI-related information preferred.
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license with ability to obtain F-Endorsement within 14 days.
  • Clean 3-year MVR with no DUI/DWI.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Successful completion of required Relias training modules.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
