The Opportunity
As the CommUNITY School Coordinator at Soddy Daisy, Hixson, or Red Bank Elementary or Middle School, you will lead the implementation of this model, coordinating programs and services that support students’ social, emotional, and academic needs while strengthening family and community partnerships.
Your role will be both strategic and hands-on:
Work closely with the school principal, teachers, students, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
Identify resource gaps and collaborate with community partners to provide essential support.
Design and implement family engagement events and student support programs tailored to your school’s unique needs.
If in a middle school, develop, supervise, and oversee after-school programs that enrich student learning and promote positive youth development.

What You’ll Do
Coordinate services and resources for students and families, ensuring access to social, emotional, and academic support.
Develop and sustain strong relationships with school staff, families, and community partners.
Lead collaborative efforts between the school and external organizations to create a supportive learning environment.
Organize family engagement activities that strengthen the school-to-home connection.
Track and evaluate program outcomes to ensure services are effective and impactful.
If in a middle school, develop, supervise, and oversee after-school programs that promote academic enrichment and positive youth development.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field (preferred).
Two or more years of experience in a school or nonprofit setting.
Supervisory experience is a plus.
Familiarity with the Community Schools Model (ideal but not required).
Comfortable using Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Must be dependable, organized, and passionate about serving students and families.
Schedule and Environment
Middle School Schedule:
Monday – Thursday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Friday, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Occasional evenings and weekends to support events and programming
Elementary School Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Occasional evenings and weekends to support events and programming
Work Location: Based at Soddy Daisy, Hixson, or Red Bank Elementary or Middle School, with occasional off-site meetings.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift (up to 20 lbs.).
Manual dexterity for operating computers and office equipment.
Must be able to navigate a busy school environment.
