JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for assisting the Advancement Director with donor engagement, fundraising efforts and marketing strategies. This position is responsible for helping the Advancement Department continue strategic growth in day to day marketing and social media campaigns, donor engagement, and special events. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, committed to applying the highest ethical standards of the profession, take pride in their integrity, is driven to see MAC succeed and enthusiastic about MAC’s mission: Saving Animals, Helping People.

SALARY AND SCHEDULE

● Salary: $40,000-$45,000/annual

● Schedule: Full Time, Non-Exempt

● Flexible schedule (hours dependent on department needs, event schedules, etc.; evening and weekend hours likely)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

● Under the Direction of MAC’s Director of Advancement, plan, manage, and execute existing major fundraising events to achieve and exceed fundraising goals, including:

●Leading all logistics including venues, vendors, contracts, budgets, timelines, volunteers, and staffing;

● Securing sponsorships, auctions item donations, and donor participation while developing creative fundraising strategies;

● Partnering with other MAC staff regarding marketing, promotions, and outreach;

●Overseeing successful event day planning and execution.

● Cultivate and execute additional community engagement opportunities, including fundraisers, brand awareness/promotion opportunities, and mission-supporting events.

● Cultivate and manage corporate partnerships, donation drives and other fundraising/ brand-awareness opportunities.

● Manage MAC events calendar and coordinate with staff and volunteers to support events.

● Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, vendors, and community partners.

● Support the Advancement team with all marketing, donor-relations and fundraising efforts.

● Assist in theutilization of public relations opportunities and community events (including TV and radio interviews, social media channels, etc.) to increase MAC’s reputation and profile and create opportunities to engage with existing and potential new supporters.

● Monitor event revenue and expenses in relation to annual budget.

● Assist in the development of event and fundraising support materials and collateral, including s flyers, information packets, event materials, graphics, etc.

● Effectively manage resources (including databases, volunteers, etc.) for maximum benefit to the organization.

● Track and analyze event outcomes, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.

● Stay current with trends in nonprofit fundraising and events, bringing innovation to MAC initiatives.

● Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills

● 2+ years of experience managing fundraising events.

● Proven ability to secure sponsorships and donor support.

● Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize competing interests and needs.

● Proficiency with donor database software -experience with Neon CRM highly preferred, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.

● Proficiency in basic graphic creation – experience with Canva Pro and/or Adobe preferred.

● Excellent persuasive writing and storytelling abilities.

●Professional demeanor, good judgment, and the ability to work independently, but collaboratively, in a goal-oriented team environment.

● Proven organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail (particularly with respect to record keeping and copy-writing).

● Excellent communication and computer skills.

Education and Experience Required

● 2+ years of experience managing fundraising events.

● Knowledge of Neon CRM preferred.

● Experience with animals/animal shelters a plus.

●Must be at least 21 years of age (required for insurance purposes); valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
