Hunter Museum of American Art

The Hunter Museum of American Art, whose mission is to engage diverse audiences in active dialogues about the importance, meaning, and relevance of American Art, seeks a full-time Database and Development Administrator. This position upholds the critical role of overseeing and maintaining the Altru donor and member database, which includes all donor, member, and event participant data. Working closely with the development team, the Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity, set up, and security of the organization’s Altru database, and other add-on and related systems including BidPal. The position will also be responsible for the planning and development of these systems as the donor database grows, as well as regular reporting, data analysis, and troubleshooting issues on behalf of all users.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform daily maintenance and enhancement constituent records using Altru and other related systems.
2. Monitor and maintain the accuracy, comprehensiveness, integrity, and security of all data.
3. Provide Altru training to different departments as well as troubleshoot issues.
4. Create queries, exports, reports, and mailing lists as needed.
5. Manage security rights and data coding.
6. Serve as primary CRM (Customer Relationship Management) administrator for Altru and ensure accurate and comprehensive data for optimal usage across the organization.
7. Manage data vendors, ensuring adherence to data strategy and protocols.
8. Research and monitor emerging solutions in the industry.
9. Provide reports and documentation between Altru and accounting.
10. Reconcile and punctually close monthly development and membership financials.
11. Process memberships and renewal communications with members.
12. Regular check processing and data entry including gift entry, acknowledgements, and reporting.
13. Build campaign structures and dashboards at the start of each year and as needed.
14. Aid Development staff with prospect research and implementing best policies for planning.
15. Assist with donor data inputting and running analyses of donor reports, including producing mailing lists, donor wall signage and other donor reports as needed.
16. Send annual tax letters to all donors.
17. Assist and coordinate with the Development team on various aspects of Spring Fundraiser and Spectrum.

Key Requirements
• Must have experience working with Altru or other CRM or donor management solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collegially with donors, members, and staff.
• Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to donor stewardship are required.
• Possess a strong sense of urgency, priority, and follow-through.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion with information at highest levels.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively across the organization.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of two years of related experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license and operational vehicle (required to attend occasional off-site events)

Full-time, hourly (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday); 1-2 times per month evenings and occasional weekend events.
