Development Manager
Full-Time (FLSA Non-Exempt) Hourly Position
Directly Responsible to Marketing and Development Director

Salary range $45 – 50 k ~ based on experience

Primary Function
The Development Manager fills the critical role of assisting the Marketing and Development Director in
executing and strategically managing our Integrated Philanthropy Plan. They also assist with other
development and marketing activities to help LIFT Youth Center meet its financial goals and access
the resources necessary to fulfill its mission.

Key Responsibilities
These key responsibilities are provided for illustration only and may include other reasonable tasks as
assigned for the good of LIFT Youth Center, Inc.

GENERAL
• Provide high level administrative support to LIFT’s Development and Marketing Director as needed.
• Attend LIFT events, conferences, trainings, and functions as needed.
• Participate in Community Engagement as needed – Chamber of Commerce activities, City and
County level partnerships. Identify new potential partnerships and donors.
• Analyze market trends and conditions and enhance overall development initiatives.
• Participate in the internal Integrated Philanthropy Plan (IPP) meetings as well as create and
present quarterly reports.

GRANT MANAGEMENT
• Research, find, and apply for new grant and funding opportunities (i.e. foundation grants, state or
federal grants, corporate giving, etc.)
• Assist in managing, organizing, and requesting data from youth center Program Staff needed for
grant application and reporting.
• Compile and prepare organizational documents for submission as needed.
• Create budgets for grant applications and be able to report on those budgets.
• Provide timely reporting on grants and ensure compliance as required by grant award
documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive grant database; monitoring reporting and reapplying as needed.

DONOR RELATIONS
• Manage and implement ongoing donor cultivation, with a focus on increasing the potential for
Major Gifts and facilitating Planned Giving.
• Execute the Gift Acceptance and Recognition Policy and the Donor Stewardship Plan.
• Execute the Annual Fund and the Monthly Donor Program, managing corresponding donor
relations.
• Manage and utilize our donor database and donor management software to its full capacity.
• Create and deliver, with support from the Executive Director and Marketing and Development
Director, a monthly email to all our Community Supporters to inform them of opportunities and
thank them for their contributions.
• Create and deliver a mailing in January to LIFT vendors, local businesses, and Chamber of
Commerce Members with sponsorship opportunities for the year.
• Execute a Site Sponsorship Program for each facility. Manage renewals each spring for the
upcoming academic year.
• Distribute public relations and prospect materials to new businesses and send introductory emails
to new Chamber members list each month.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS
• Assist in coordination and execution of yearly fundraising events, including a Golf Tournament,
Stakeholder’s Dinner, and Giving Tuesday Telethon.
• Assist in securing event sponsors, event participants, and auction items/prizes for events.
• Assist in sponsorship fulfillment, ensuring sponsorship benefits are delivered in a timely manner.
• Assist in providing sponsors with customer service, assistance, and reminders as needed, and
collaborate with staff on proper documentation and billing procedures.
• Attend and assist in managing in-person fundraising events.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Proven experience in philanthropy.
• A background in grant writing is preferred.
• Knowledge of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
• Knowledge of basic Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills, such as time and project management.
• Ability to manage personal workflow in order to meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• A good team player who meets and exceeds team goals.
• Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and charismatic.
• A clear, concise writing style.
• An eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability and willingness to be a positive, contributing, and adaptable member of the team.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Must provide a valid driver’s license and employment eligibility verification information in
accordance with the I-9 form, such as a Social Security Card.
• Must pass a national criminal background check and NOT be listed in the sex offender registry.
• Must take and pass a drug test and comply with a “Drug Free” policy, including random tests.
• Reliable transportation to and from work to program locations, and for activities such as meetings,
events, and trainings in and out of the area.
• Must be able to fully support the mission, vision, and values as stated by LIFT.
