Donor Relations Coordinator

Department: Development

Reports to: Director of Development

Job Description

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) is seeking a team-oriented professional to join a dynamic staff dedicated to fulfilling its mission to lead a network of partners in eliminating hunger and promoting better nutrition in our region. The CAFB is a bridge between America’s food bounty and those who cannot provide for themselves.

The Donor Relations Coordinator is an integral part the CAFB’s development team. He/she manages the daily data entry and donor stewardship programs. He/she is responsible for supporting fundraising efforts for the organization by providing data support and analysis of donor information to the development team. Responsibilities also include managing all written donor recognition and acknowledgements in a timely manner and generating all reports needed from the development department; a virtual 100% level of accuracy is needed.

Job Responsibilities

· Works closely with Data Entry Position to manage the CAFB’s donor database, ensuring the integrity of the data; Updates database with supplemental information, including notes from staff meetings with individual and corporate donors

o Ensures that gifts are entered within 24 hours of receipt

· Prepares supplemental thank you materials as appropriate based on relationship with specific donors

· Runs queries of the database for all mailing lists, invitation lists, email lists, advocacy lists, etc.

· Provides data and analysis of donor information as needed to support the development team’s fundraising efforts/strategy

· Utilize data to help identify, set up, and track the development department’s KPI’s

· Analyze data to include progress to goal within Dev team and report to DOD

· Year-End Giving Statements

· Coordinate with Finance for month-end close

· Provide data for QPRs (quarterly) and the NAR (annually)

· Engaging with peer Food Banks to understand what processes/procedures effective processes/procedures across the network

· Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development

Applicant Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must have at least 3 years work experience, preferably in the office environment
Must have at least 1-2 years of experience with data management, including queries, data entry, imports, etc. Donor data management experience preferred
Organization and follow-up skills – a demonstrated ability to make and meet commitments
Ability to coordinate tasks and deadlines with multiple departments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to draft letters and conduct mail merges for letters and emails
Must be highly organized
Must possess a “can do, problem solver” attitude
Strong writing skills and communication skills
Friendly and welcoming phone manner
Flexible, problem-solver

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive wage and benefits, including: vacation and sick leave, health insurance & 401k. 40 hour workweek, $39,000 per year.
