Celebrating Women United’s Impact

by | Mar 23, 2022

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the past, present, and future of American women’s accomplishments and milestones in history. The month of March was adopted as Women’s History Month in the 1980’s and has since celebrated the many women that shape history.

With a similar mission, United Way of Greater Chattanooga provides support to women and families within its own community through an internally coordinated engagement group called Women United. Their goal is to advance these individuals out of poverty and become stable through financial support, engaging in the community, and volunteer efforts.

The mission of United Way is to unite people and resources, allowing communities to reach their full potential in education, stability, and health and well-being. Women United members are hardworking, passionate, like-hearted women that strive to be advocates of this mission here in Chattanooga. The ultimate goal is to give a voice to those underprivileged women and families.

Anne Bradshaw, a member of Women United, believes in their mission of bringing likeminded women together to make even more of a difference in the community.

In the coming years, Bradshaw’s hope for Women United is to continue concentrating efforts towards making a difference through strong, motivated women leadership.

“When women get together and put together their brainpower, their initiative, their force of will, you can really accomplish a lot,” said Bradshaw.

Want to join Women United and be a part of a group of like-minded women that are making meaningful impacts in our community? As we move into April and leave March behind, the message behind Women’s History Month is something we can reflect on and one that the members of Women United live out every day. Take the time out of each day to thank those impactful women in your life.
