“Participating in the ALICE work group was eye-opening. We explored how policies can uplift employees who are asset limited, uncovering the tough decisions they face daily. This experience highlighted the value of flexibility, professional development, and creative benefits in supporting our team. Inspired by what we learned, we identified those with the least job flexibility and implemented changes to better support them. We also introduced TextCare to bridge the gap between employees and healthcare providers, extending this benefit to part-time staff working 20 hours or more. Additionally, we expanded our sick leave benefits and created in-person benefits meetings where team members can ask questions and learn more about how to use the resources we offer. As a next step, we plan to bring together team members from across the organization to discuss and determine what areas to focus on next. These steps reflect our commitment to fostering well-being for all team members.” – Devin Edwards, Chief Operations Officer at Northside Neighborhood House
